Just moments after being granted his freedom from Broward jail, Kodak Black went viral for throwing rocks at a reporter.

It all went down on Wednesday (February 21), when the rapper, who’d been behind bars since December, was finally released.

Kodak Black Accused Of Throwing Rocks And Threatening Reporters

As Black was leaving the facility, Local 10 News reporter Rosh Lowe and his cameraman seemed eager to conduct his first post-incarceration interview.

But judging by his response, the ‘ZEZE’ artist seemed not interested in answering questions.

Instead of walking away, however, Black took matters into his own hands by throwing rocks at the cameraman.

“I’ve been doing this for a long time, and let me tell you, this is one of the strangest things I have ever seen,” Lowe said during the news report.

The accompanying video of the incident shows Black, visibly upset, picking up a rock and throwing it at the cameraman.

“Don’t throw anything at our camera,” one person repeatedly tells the 26-year-old.

When Black proceeded to throw more rocks in their direction, somebody in the video insisted they should call the cops. Lowe states that Black then approached him, allegedly threatening to punch him repeatedly.

Per HotNewHipHop, the reporter also claimed that one of the rocks thrown in their direction hit his crew member in the ribs.

Currently, it is unclear whether the cameraman sustained any injuries or if they will file charges against Black.

Kodak’s Release Has Been A Long Time Coming

The Shade Room previously reported authorities had Black in jail since December 7. The lock-up came after an arrest in Plantation, Florida, for cocaine possession, improper parking, and tampering with physical evidence.

Black had been on probation due to an active drug trafficking case from 2022. This subsequently meant he had violated his court-ordered agreement and would remain in jail without bond.

Black and his attorney, Bradford Cohen, refuted the drug charge. They argued that Kodak never had cocaine on him during the incident, despite cops claiming otherwise.

Judge Barbara Duffy dropped the drug possession charge on February 9. Ultimately, the prosecutors couldn’t confirm or deny Black’s claim that he had an oxycodone prescription, according to The Associated Press.

Following the good news, Cohen said he’d be working on removing the tampering charge, which would grant his client his freedom.

The judge agreed that Black, who had spent two months behind bars linked to a dismissed drug charge, had served enough time to satisfy the probation violation claims.
