National President.of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, Archbishop Daniel Okoh on Monday, said that President Bola Tinubu’s administration is making positive efforts to tackle the challenges facing the country.
The CAN President stated this when he led a delegation of the leadership of the association to pay a courtesy visit to President Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
He urged the President to sustain the part of governance he has chosen by giving all Nigerians the sense of belonging.
He said, “Sincerely what we found out is that the President is actually sensitive to all the challenges we have ,we see that he is aware . We see him making very positive steps even from the beginning of his administration by the way he has made appointments so far.
“He has come with a great sense of inclusiveness and Nigerians are having a sense of belonging
“As Nigerians in this government, I tell you that his pronouncement so far and his body language has increased the confidence of Nigerians in Nigeria.
“We believe that if given the chance he will do a lot more, we are praying that the Lord will strengthen his hands to be able to do a lot more and we are praying that the lord will strengthen his hands to do a lot more and turn around the fortunes of this country.”
While stressing that the country is bedevilled with myriad of challenges, the CAN President said that the good news was that the President has taken positive steps to tackle the problems.
He called on Nigerians to be patient with the vision of the President.
According to him, “We know that there are a lot of challenges but what we tell our people is that, this is just the beginning of this administration what we are facing now didn’t just start today but several years back and it will take a while to turn around these things.
“The important thing is that there is an intentional step that the President has taken and he is taking to reverse the trend of events especially in the area of governance.
“We see the efforts he’s making towards securing the country so we ask Nigerians who seem to have lost hope not to lose hope but to have patience and perseverance.
“The advice we have for the President is for him to continue on the path that he’s now determined to follow ,he’s determined to run a government that is inclusive and a government that listens to people
“So we believe that now we have a listening President and we urge him to continue on that path and to always look out for those who mean well for the country and put them into good use.”
