Aston Villa’s poor pre-season results continued after they failed to beat Club America on Saturday.
Unai Emery’s side have lost their last three pre-season friendlies. Before losing to Club America last night, the Villains were beaten 4-1 by Columbus before suffering a 2-0 defeat against RB Leipzig.
After failing to create any clear-cut chances during yesterday’s game, there will be major concerns for Emery, who has already spent £150 million on 12 new signings, including landing Amadou Onana from Everton and Ian Maatsen from Chelsea.

And adding insult to injury, Douglas Luiz, who left Villa Park in favour of a switch to Juventus earlier in the window, enjoyed an impressive debut for his new club.
Douglas Luiz made his debut for Juventus on Saturday against Brest in a pre-season friendly.Awarded 28 minutes against Brest yesterday, the Brazilian midfielder, who recently moved to Turin on a five-year deal, enjoyed a fantastic appearance.
Wasting no time in showcasing what he brings to the Old Lady, Luiz almost instantly assisted new teammate Danilo.
The South American’s passing range and his ability to get up and down the pitch are definitely two attributes the Villains will struggle to replace.
