In the show, members of the 27th precinct were shocked to learn that Kate was absent. On the job, they were introduced to her replacement Jessica Brady (Maura Tierney).

It wasn’t until later in the episode that Camryn‘s departure from the show was explained, and she was accused of making an Irish goodbye.

Kate sent a text to Vincent Riley (Reid Scott), revealing that she was following her son Patrick to Miami after he got a new job offer.

“Mom is tagging along,” she texted her former coworker. “Didn’t want to make a big to-do about it – tears and all that.”

Camryn joined the show in 2022. Her departure was announced earlier this year.
