Former Nigeria international Sunday Oliseh has explained what is working for the Super Eagles at the ongoing AFCON in Côte d’Ivoire.
After a shaky start which they drew 1-1 with Equatorial Guinea, the Eagles have gone on to record four straight wins without conceding a single goal.
Their run up to the semi-finals have seen them take out hosts Côte d’Ivoire and old rivals Cameroon’s Indomitable Lions.
Following their impressive run, they have been tipped as the hot favourite to be crowned champions.
In an interview on Channels Television on Sunday, Oliseh highlighted what Jose Peseiro’s men are doing well.
“What we are doing so well is the compactness and the players in the midfield, the central defensive midfielders that are winning the ball are making it impossible for the opponents to attack our central defence.
“These are players that are really helping Nigerians to excel.”

The AFCON 1994 winner praised Semi Ajayi for his outstanding performance for the Eagles.
Ajayi is the only player in the Eagles squad to have played every single minute in Côte d’Ivoire, contributing to the four straight clean sheets recorded by the Eagles.
“People are forgetting that Ajayi is doing a great work at the back. Oliseh states. “The man is quiet but he’s doing his job.”
Meanwhile, the Eagles will be back in action on Wednesday for their semi-final clash with South Africa in Bouake.
This will be the fourth meeting between Nigeria and South Africa at the AFCON with the former claiming victories in all three previous clashes.
