PlayStation 5 Pro will release on November 7, but pre-orders are now live for folks in the US and the UK. The PS Direct storefront went live for pre-orders at 10 AM EDT, so if you are finding yourself in a queue when logging into the site, stay in line, as there is a ton of traffic and you don’t want to lose your spot.

Other retailers have their landing pages set up, but the unreleased PlayStation 5 Pro console is still labeled as coming soon. Retailers like Amazon, Walmart, Best Buy and Target are reportedly set to open pre-orders on the later date of October 10.

The PS5 Pro console is for $700 to pre-order at PS Direct and will be listed for the same price at the other big box retailers.

PlayStation 30th Anniversary Collection

Along with the standard white and black PS5, Sony has announced a slick limited edition collection in honor of the original PlayStation’s 30th anniversary — with the retro gray colors inspired by the Sony’s first console. It’s being called “The coolest a PlayStation console has ever looked ever,” by me. It comes bundled with a DualSense controller, the upgraded DualSense Edge controller, and the PlayStation Portal  handheld — all with the matching PS1-aesthetic makeover.

The PlayStation 30th Anniversary Collection pre-orders are also open at PS Direct. The site is experiencing a large volume of customers all queuing up to place their pre-orders, so once you get into the queue, hang tight. Waits can be over an hour. The price for the collection is set at $1,000.

The 30th Anniversary edition of the PS5 Pro console cannot be purchased on its own outside the bundle. However, the DualSense ($80), Dual Sense Edge ($220), and PlayStation Portal ($220) can each be pre-ordered individually.

The retro color scheme isn’t exclusive to the Pro. The Digital Edition PlayStation 5 also has the cool new paint job (or I guess old paint job) and is pre-orderable at PS Direct for $500.

Improvements to the PS5 Pro

The Pro version of the Sony PlayStation 5 has a bigger GPU, a new SSR AI-based upscaling, advanced ray tracing, and 2TB SSD (with expandable storage). Players can expect higher framerates and better detail in the fidelity and performance modes in games that offer them.

If you waited too long to get on the PS Direct website, or just got beat out by the waves of bots likely scooping up all the inventory, you will have a second chance at pre-ordering the PlayStation 5 Pro and all the 30th Anniversary versions and accessories. Amazon, Walmart, Best Buy and Target will all be opening pre-orders on October 10.
