Jude Bellingham admits to feeling like a “gladiator” in the Real Madrid “coliseum”, with the England star now part of the “biggest club in the world”.

The 20-year-old midfielder knew what awaited him when he agreed to a 103 million euro transfer to Santiago Bernabéu in the summer of 2023. He became another ‘Galactico’ in the Spanish capital, with 18 goals scored in 26 appearances.

“A very big club”

Bellingham is not one to let pressure get him down, as the demands of performing in front of impatient fans are taken into account.pte every time he steps on the field. The Three Lions ace told Real Madrid TV: “You know it’s the biggest club in the world, but when you experience it up close, it’s spectacular. It’s like you’re playing in a coliseum. You feel like a gladiator. It’s very special. You can never imagine how big this club is. It is impossible to go out into the field and not be recognized. The club is a level above. »

Bellingham has done his best to fit in on and off the pitch in Spain, avoiding falling into the trap of questions being asked of Gareth Bale throughout his time in Madrid. Bellingham added: “There are times when I go out to have a coffee near my house or to eat in town. Then I come home to rest a little in the garden if the weather is nice. If my friends are there, we go out to dinner and come home. It’s very nice. We meet people in the places we frequent the most. They don’t see you as Jude Bellingham, the footballer, but as Jude who comes for a coffee and that’s great. The people I meet in town take care of me a lot. I feel at home. When I go out, I’m a reserved person and I don’t like interacting with too many people, because it’s difficult for me because of the language, but I’m always very polite. »
