When can Dani Olmo make his debut for Barcelona?

Barcelona are all set to secure the services of Dani Olmo. The Spanish international is set to imminently undergo a medical and join the Catalan camp.

Barça’s plan is to unveil Olmo during the Joan Gamper trophy match against AS Monaco, leading many to believe that he may make his Barcelona debut on August 12.

When will Olmo make his Barça debut?

A recent report from SPORT has offered more light on Dani Olmo’s integration into the Barcelona setup.

The report clarifies Olmo will not make his debut during the Joan Gamper trophy encounter against AS Monaco.

That is because the Spaniard is still yet to kickstart training, as he was given an extended break by RB Leipzig on account of his success at Euro 2024.

Keeping that in mind, the Spaniard won’t be fit enough to participate in the Joan Gamper trophy. However, there is a chance he could be unveiled just before the game.

Will Olmo feature against Valencia?

As for the date of Olmo’s debut is concerned, it could come in the season opener against Valencia on August 17.

However, there are question marks over his participation at the Mestalla, given that the Spaniard is still yet to be registered in the Barcelona setup.

The onus will be on Barça to not only complete the player’s registration but also speed up his integration.

This could lead many to believe that Barcelona may now desperately look to sanction a fresh exit, in their bid to free up the wage bill. The coming few days, to that end, could be integral.
