Cristiano Ronaldo issued a rallying cry to his teammates after Al-Nassr’s surprise defeat against Al-Raed (3-1) in the Saudi Pro League.

Al-Nassr suffered a disappointing home defeat to lowly side Al-Raed, with goals from Karim El Berkaoui, Mohamed Fouzair and Amir Sayoud canceling out Ayman Yahya’s goal on Thursday night.

While Ronaldo himself was somewhat lacking in color with some big chances wasted, the 39-year-old called on his teammates to learn from the failure and come back. He tweeted: “Every setback is a lesson for a stronger comeback!” »

Come back stronger

Ronaldo’s club, Al-Nassr, is now 12 points behind the championship leader, Al-Hilal, 11 days before the end of the championship. The Riyadh club are undefeated in the league this season and if Al-Nassr wants to topple them, they cannot afford to lose any more points. They must also hope that Jorge Jesus’ side experiences a dip in form.

Al-Nassr returns to action on Monday when they face Al Ain in the quarter-final second leg of the AFC Champions League. Ronaldo’s team lost 1-0 in the first leg and will hope to make up for it at home.
