Real Madrid, in search of Kylian Mbappé, could trigger a domino effect on the projects of Manchester City and Erling Haaland.
Los Blancos are close to agreeing a free transfer deal for Mbappé after the France team captain confirmed his intention to leave Paris Saint-Germain. Real Madrid have already tabled an offer for the Frenchman, with things progressing rapidly since the start of 2024.

However, Mbappé’s arrival in Madrid could impact Haaland’s status at Manchester, as he is under contract there until 2027. Haaland is a crucial player for the Premier League holders, and the club is working to extend his contract until 2029, and to renegotiate his exit clause.
According to the latest reports from the Daily Mirror, City are concerned about Haaland’s £170 million sale clause, which becomes active in June. Real Madrid are long-time admirers of the Norwegian and, with there being no fee to pay for Mbappé, they could make a bold approach. Real could therefore wait, but City hope Haaland will choose to extend, as the Spanish giants prioritize Mbappé.
