Here’s What Went Down Between Alexander Ortiz & The Family Of Alianna Farfan

According to TMZ, the incident occurred on Friday, January 31. At the time, Ortiz appeared in court before a judge. Per the outlet, Ortiz has been accused of killing Farfan. Furthermore, a February 2024 press release from the Albuquerque Police Department asserts that Ortiz fatally shot Farfan on January 11, 2024, in her apartment.

“Homicide detectives learned from friends and family that Farfan and Ortiz had an abusive relationship and Ortiz was upset with Farfan the day of the shooting,” the release reads in part, adding that Farfan was fearful of Ortiz.

Ultimately, Ortiz was charged with her murder in February 2024. Per NBC News, he reportedly pled not guilty to the charge.

However, on Friday, Farfan’s uncle, Carlos Lucero, reportedly hopped the courtroom gate at Ortiz’s hearing. Subsequently, Lucero attacked Ortiz, bringing him to the ground. As the incident unfolded, another man believed to be Farfan’s stepfather, Pete Ysasi, followed Lucero’s lead, joining in on pounding on Ortiz.

Ultimately, Ortiz’s father, Joeray Ortiz, joined in, defending his son from the double attack.

According to the outlet, the brawl continued for about a minute before it was successfully broken up by deputies. Afterward, Lucero reportedly told authorities the brawl was “worth every moment… he killed my niece like a coward.”

Per the outlet, Lucero and Ysasi were subsequently arrested and charged with battery on a peace officer and assault.

To date, footage of the incident has garnered over 5.1 million views on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Lucero and Ysasi have since set up a GoFundMe to raise a goal of $25,000 for “legal assistance after the court room brawl.”

“Tension and over whelming emotions were high in the courtroom with Family seeing the person who took the life of Alianna Farfan for the first time. Both Carlos and Pete cared very much for Alianna and reacted on their emotion in the court room. Alianna did not deserve what happened to her she was a central part of our family. She was a beautiful young mother of two boys, her smile was so bright and we miss her dearly,” the fundraiser’s description reads.
