Accused of 115 financial offences, Manchester City – notably suspected of having concealed payments via third parties, disguising them as sponsorship income – is still not out of the woods. While Everton, for example, was sanctioned this season with a loss of several points in the standings for non-compliance with the Premier League’s financial rules, the recent English champion could, for its part, be risking a lot. With this in mind and according to the latest information from The Telegraphthe Portuguese whistleblower Rui Pinto, at the origin of the “Football Leaks” and sentenced in November 2023 to six months suspended prison sentence for hacking the email boxes of Paris Saint-Germain executives, is also threatening to reveal hundreds of damning emails and documents, which would prove the Manchester club’s violations of financial fair play.

“The Manchester City documents show sums of money paid by the club that have not been mentioned to the football authorities. I have now handed over five hard drives to the French and German authorities with millions of documents, including others on City, and I have described what is on each one. I am confident they will find criminal relevance.”the person concerned assured in particular in remarks reported by The Sun. “We have been approached by investigators to share information regarding Manchester City that has not been previously released. We have not yet released the information but we have a huge file of documents relating to Manchester City that has not yet been released. The files will be released at some point, we cannot say when but we will.”said Pinto’s legal representative. City can tremble…
