A White Collar revival now has a title and a status update from creator, writer and executive producer Jeff Eastin. “It’s coming together,” Eastin wrote in a post on X, along with a screenshot of the script and the title White Collar Renaissance. The pilot episode also is titled “Masquerade.”
There have long been talks of the potential revival series. Star Matt Bomer told Deadline’s Pete Hammond in an interview earlier this year that a revival series is “technically in the works,” adding ‘it’s moving in the right direction and seems it could be a very real thing in the next year or two.” Eastin then confirmed in June that an updated version of the police procedural is finally in development.
“We’re gonna reboot. I’m writing the script,” Eastin said, as quoted by Variety. He appeared at the trade’s TV festival with stars Bomer, Tim DeKay and Tiffani Thiessen — all of whom are expected to return. “I’m in!” exclaimed Bomer, who played Neil Caffrey, a reformed conman on the USA Network series which aired from 2009-2014.
The reboot also is expected to honor the late Willie Garson, who played Mozzie in the original series. Garson died in 2021.
The show also starred Marsha Thomason as FBI Special Agent Diana Berrigan and Sharif Atkins as FBI Special Agent Clinton Jones. Hilarie Burton recurred as insurance investigator Sarah Ellis and Diahann Carroll played June Ellington, an elderly widow whom Neil befriends.
