The couple’s daytime makeout session turned heads since Hadid had recently called it quits with Marc Kalman after two years of dating.

Hadid hard-launched her romance with Banuelos on Valentine’s Day in 2024 as she posted throwback photos with the horse rider from her October 2023 birthday bash.

Despite the duo being private, Banuelos gave a glimpse inside their romance during an appearance on the “Along for the Ride” podcast in August 2024, revealing they lived together in a 5th-wheel trailer when they started dating.

Banuelos previously credited his father, an immigrant from Mexico, for teaching him to love and care for horses at a young age.

It’s unclear exactly when Banuelos started riding professionally, but he became the AQHA Battle in the Saddle Champion in 2012, per Cutting Horse Training Online.

In 2017, he became one of the youngest riders to be inducted into the National Cutting Horse Association Hall of Fame.

He also secured the title of the NCHA’s leading opening rider in 2018, 2020, 2021 and 2022.

In December 2023, Banuelos revealed he “reached the $6 million earnings mark” at the age of 35 during an interview with Cowboys & Indians magazine.

“I’m grateful for that,” he said.

Banuelos credited his success to the nerves he gets while competing, explaining that it reminds him of his passion.

“The day that someone sees me walk into the herd not nervous, I want to be kicked in the ass,” he said. “If you don’t care enough to accelerate your heart rate, then what are you doing?”

Amid her romance with Banuelos, Hadid decided to take a step back from modeling to start a new life in Texas with her partner.

“For the first time now, I’m not putting on a fake face. If I don’t feel good, I won’t go. If I don’t feel good, I take time for myself,” she told Allure in April 2024.

During his “Along for the Ride” podcast appearance, Banuelos explained that the Victoria’s Secret model has been his biggest cheerleader, even waking up at “2:30 in the morning” to bring him and his team breakfast on competition days.

“Being that consistent and that uplifting and positive and warm to everybody she meets and helping with horses and stuff like that it’s just freaking amazing,” he gushed.
