The premiere of George Clooney’s Broadway play brought out dozens of stars, but one was noticeably absent: Amal Clooney.
The actor shared that his wife could not attend Thursday’s opening of “Good Night, and Good Luck” because she was taking care of their 7-year-old twins, Alexander and Ella.
As he walked the red carpet solo, George, 63, told reporters that Amal, 47, was “with the kids,” according to People.

GC ImagesThe Oscar winner, who married the human rights lawyer in 2014, wore a classic black tuxedo with a black bowtie for the opening night of the play at the Winter Garden Theatre in New York City on Thursday. His new brown hair was also on display.
The new play is the theatrical adaptation of the 2005 movie with the same name –– in which Clooney originally starred, directed and co-wrote.
Clooney stars in the Broadway show alongside Clark Gregg, Ilana Glazer and Paul Gross, among others.

The Oscar winner’s new role led to a new lifestyle change for both him and his family, since they recently moved to New York City to support him during the show’s run.
“They love being here,” Clooney said of his family on a February episode of the “Late Show With Stephen Colbert” in February. “I mean, come on, how do you not love this? It’s New York City.”

“Actually, a play is kind of a good schedule because you’re working at night,” he explained. “You get to see the kids during the day, so it’s OK.”
The “Michael Clayton” actor and the human rights lawyer have homes all over the world –– including Lake Como, Italy, and Provence, France.
