Paris Saint-Germain finally has its first major reinforcement of the summer transfer window. This Monday, the capital club made official the arrival of Portuguese midfielder Joao Neves from Benfica Lisbon.

The 19-year-old player signed with the Red and Blue for the sum of 60 million euros for the next five seasons. The Portuguese international was desired by the Parisian management who had made him their priority in midfield. For his part, the player was seduced by the Parisian project and explained the reasons for his choice during an interview for PSG TV.

At just 19 years old, Joao Neves will move up a gear next season at Paris Saint-Germain. The new Parisian was seduced by the Parisian project and by his coach Luis Enrique. “It’s a fantastic project for a big club. It’s a young club with high goals and I think this way of thinking and trying to make the club stronger with young players is a great project. This club has high goals and can already boast several records,” he said on the club’s website.

Before continuing : “Luis Enrique’s philosophy is what I was looking for, that’s also why I chose Paris. I really enjoyed our conversation. He’s a fantastic person, and I’m really happy to be here. I think he was waiting for me to join the club, so I won’t disappoint him.” See you for the resumption of Ligue 1.
