Why 'NCIS' & 'Origins' Are Taking 6 Weeks Off From New Episodes

NCIS and NCIS: Origins are taking six weeks off for a hiatus in December-January 2025, and fans might not be happy about these extended breaks!

Both NCIS and the prequel series, Origins, will air new episodes each Monday until Monday (December 16). After December 16, the series will take six weeks off before returning with new episodes on Monday, January 27, 2025.

You may not realize that it’s incredibly common for TV shows to take time off during the winter holidays. The shows will air their fall finales on the 16th, and return 6 weeks later to continue the stories. And NCIS fans are lucky: some ABC TV shows are on hiatus for about four months!
