Why Prince Harry Isn't Attending His Friend Hugh Grosvenor's Wedding This Weekend

One of England’s most anticipated weddings of the year is happening this weekend, and while both Prince Harry and his brother Prince William were invited…one is not attending.

The wedding is for Hugh Grosvenor, the Duke of Westminster, and his future wife, Olivia Henson. They announced their engagement last year. The Duke is godson to King Charles. He’s also godfather to Prince Archie and Prince George.

Many anticipated that Prince Harry and Prince William could both be in attendance…but Prince Harry is not attending after all.

There was an “acknowledgment on both sides that it would be difficult for Harry to attend,” People reports, presumably due to his issues with his family at the moment.

The Duke of Westminster and Duke of Sussex had a conversation and came to an “understanding” where it was mutually decided that Prince Harry would not attend. Prince William will be an usher at the event.

He sends all “his love and support and admiration for the couple” at this time, according to the site.

Meanwhile, The Times called this wedding “the most royal nonroyal wedding of the year, with members of Britain’s oldest and wealthiest aristocratic families heading north.” The wedding will take place on June 7.

There’s said to be a lot of tension between Prince Harry and Prince William, and royal issues were further highlighted in the newest insider book, “Endgame.”
