The Diplomat season two is now streaming on Netflix, and luckily, the show was already renewed for season 3! However, a surprising revelation was just made by the show’s creator Debora Cahn. Fans might notice there are only six episodes in the new season. Keep reading to find out more… “It was my decision. [Netflix] was not happy. They wanted the full eight [episode count],” Debora told TVLine. “I was really tired. It was a time thing. It felt like there wasn’t enough time to turn around eight of them. It was a lot to do in what appeared to be a short period of time,” she said. Well, she didn’t realize that it would be an 18-month gap between season one and two when she made that decision, and she might have changed her mind given that info. “Had we known it was going to be a year and a half before we got back on the air it would’ve been different,” she confirmed. Netflix already renewed the show for a third season, and she did confirm that season 3 will feature 8 episodes. Find out which season 1 actor will be exiting ahead of The Diplomat season 2.
