The reason Sophia Momodu disagreed with music artist Davido’s request for joint custody of their kid has caused controversy on social media.

Gossipinfo reported that a few days before his traditional wedding, Davido had filed a suit, seeking joint custody of his daughter, as he claimed Sophia was denying him access to her and extorting money from him. He narrated that though he had a relationship with Momodu, the relationship had ended some years ago while they resolved to take care of their child; unfortunately, that hasn’t been the case. He claimed Sophia rejected his house offer and demanded he pay a N5 million monthly rent for her house, among others.

Responding to it, Sophia said she had an affair with Davido from 2020-2022 while he was dating Chioma. She debunked his claims of denying him access to his daughter, as she revealed that Davido had never made any attempt to meet with Imade and had abandoned her because she refused to have sex with him.

Now reports claim that the mother of one had filed a 102-paragraph affidavit to oppose the singer seeking joint custody of their daughter.

Details from the affidavit revealed reasons why Sophia doesn’t want the singer to have joint custody of their daughter, which include the death of his son, Ifeanyi; the singer’s controversial lifestyle and his love for using their daughter to get back at her.

“She prayed the court that custody of their daughter should not be granted to the Applicant, citing his controversial lifestyle which, according to her “will expose our daughter to more negative trauma at her tender age”.

“The fact that the Applicant lost his son in his house in rather unfortunate and questionable circumstances shows that our daughter cannot be placed in the custody of the Applicant.”

“That throughout the course of our relationship, the Applicant has never shown true commitment or love for our daughter as he always used the condition of my making myself available for his sexual pleasures as a pre-condition to visit our daughter or show some fatherly love to her.”

“That the Applicant, apart from his cravings for a sex slave, only comes around to spend time with our daughter when he wants to use our daughter for his media stunts or promotions.”

That the Applicant, apart from his cravings for a sex slave, only comes around to spend time with our daughter when he wants to use our daughter for his media stunts or promotions.”

“That at a time when we were in Atlanta for the summer holiday in 2017, the Applicant kicked me and our daughter out of his house where we were staying for vacation even though he knew we had nowhere else to go. I ended up squatting with a friend till I was able to get another accommodation for me and our daughter to complete our vacation”.

While many concurred with her, others slammed her for bringing up the death of Davido’s son, Ifeanyi, who died in October 2022 under the care of his nanny.

One Theophyll1 wrote, “Mentioning Ifeanyi’s death and indirectly referencing Chioma as incompetent is not only low, it’s also vile and bitter

One Faith And Motherhood wrote, “You are trying to deny a father access to his daughter because he is with another woman. That’s all I see here

One Miss Pea Fairy wrote, “Na using his son’s death is nasty

One I Am Oluwatosin defending Sophia wrote, “You people like to see things with emotions. Is that environment truly safe for a girl child? Is it? She is at an impressionable age. She should be with her mother

One Hameedah Adayi wrote, “She is very right! See the way Chioma and Davido are gallivanting at night parties and clubs. Chioma, he like, who dey nurse 2 infants?

One Sparkling Wine wrote, “Reference to his late son was the worst and most insensitive prayer in that process

One Boma Awobajo wrote, “I see nothing wrong here. I, too, would do the same. He can have visiting rights, take the child out on dates but definitely not custody when the biological mum is alive, well, mentally stable, and capable”.
