New Tottenham signing Timo Werner could make his second Premier League debut this weekend following his surprise loan from RB Leipzig.

Spurs' next Premier League game is against Manchester United this Sunday, and with Heung-min Son absent due to the AFC Asian Cup, fans will hope Werner is available.

The German striker didn't quite live up to expectations while he was with Chelsea, so he will be determined to change that narrative while playing for Ange Postecoglou's men.

And that could start in Manchester.

Will Timo Werner make his debut this weekend?

The 27-year-old's last game for RB Leipzig came in December in the Champions League against Young Boys.

Since then, the Bundesliga have been on their winter break, meaning there haven't been any games for the striker to play.

Before that, he missed a few matches with an abductor injury.

But bar lacking a bit of match fitness, Werner should be ready to make his Spurs debut at Old Trafford.

He's clear of that injury and has been working hard during the winter break.

Son is set to be away for a while, meaning we could see Richarlison shift back to the left and Werner start up front.

However, the German has played on the left in the past, so it wouldn't be a surprise to see him slot in there while Son is absent.

Once the captain returns, you would expect Werner and Richarlison to be competing for the lone forward role.

Speaking ahead of the Man United game, Postecoglou revealed his excitement about Werner.

He said: "I thought it was a really good opportunity. I had a good chat with Johan [Lange] about it and I felt Timo would be a really good fit for us."

The Australian didn't indicate that Werner wouldn't be available, so expect to see him at least in the matchday squad this weekend.
