EXCLUSIVE: Will Trent is digging up some strong viewership for ABC.

After seven days of multi-platform viewing, the March 5 episode amassed 9.02M viewers across ABC, Hulu and other digital platforms, according to Disney. The makes it the series’ most-watched multi-platform telecast ever.

In terms of ratings, the episode was up 219% in seven-day multi-platform viewing, scoring a 1.15 rating among the 18-49 demographic.

These are the biggest delayed viewing increases so far this season, with the audience nearly doubling during that time period. This is after the March 5 episode was already the most-watched episode this season in live+same-day figures with 4.8M viewers tuning in.

In linear viewing only, Will Trent tallied about 7.3M viewers, according to Nielsen, which means that just over 1.5M viewers came from Hulu and other streaming options.

Season 2 has been off to a strong start on ABC, improving its year-over-year audience every episode so far in the seven-day viewing window. The first three episodes of Season 2 are already up 9% over the first three episodes of Season 1.

Will Trent received an early Season 2 renewal last year on the heels of Season 1’s promising performance. The series led the ABC freshman pack as the No. 1 new drama this season in total viewers (9.9 million) and adults 18-49 (1.65 rating) after 35 days of viewing across linear and digital platforms.

Based on Karin Slaughter’s bestselling Will Trent series, the series stars Rodríguez as Special Agent Will Trent of the Georgia Bureau of Investigations (GBI), who was abandoned at birth and endured a harsh coming-of-age in Atlanta’s overwhelmed foster care system. But now, determined to use his unique point of view to make sure no one is abandoned like he was, Will Trent has the highest clearance rate in the GBI.
