Tony Deppen welcomed William Hung to his brewery this week.
The GCW/MLW star has impressed in the ring, but looks to be equally impressive outside of it. Deppen is the co-owner of the Pilger Ruh Brewery, which he has run for the past three years.
Tony Deppen posted on Twitter about William Hung visiting the brewery. Hung gained a cult following after he auditioned for the third season of American Idol in 2004. Hung’s performance of Ricky Martin’s “She Bangs” was mocked by the judges, but they praised him for his positive attitude despite having no professional training.
Pilger Ruh Brewery posted a photo of Hung, with the caption, “William Hung was in the brew house the other day”, with various photos of the American Idol star helping around the place.
Deppen replied to this tweet with one of his own. The MLW star said:
“We are going to have to get someone a little more famous now. Hard to top William hung rolling into the brewery.”
Hung now works for the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s office.
Tony Deppen Was Inspired By Heels Of The Past
Major League Wrestling‘s Tony Deppen recently sat down with WrestleZone Managing Editor Bill Pritchard. He spoke about where his inspiration for his mannersism and facial expressions in the ring come from.
The grappler revealed that he grew up watching heel wrestlers, and was inspired watching them on the screen back in the day.
“I honestly don’t know. I’ve had a lot of people talk to me. Like after they watch a match, and they’re like, ‘Have you ever acted?’ and I’m like no. And they’re like, ‘I don’t know what it is about you, but you know how to work that reaction on your face.’ I think it’s just growing up watching a lot of the heels back in the day, just watching their reactions and kind of taking a little bit of that and sprinkling it into my own world.”
