Dancing With the Stars has had many different pro-dancers partner up with celebrities. Typically, the pros move on after a few seasons. On Thursday (August 29) fan favorite pro dancer Witney Carson announced that she was returning for season 33! Fans thought that Witney might be exiting after welcoming her second child, but it looks like she’ll be back for the 2024 season. Witney first joined Dancing With the Stars during its 18th season and she was partnered up with singer, Cody Simpson. While the pair finished in ninth place, Witney would follow up with a redemption win the very next season. During season 19, she was paired with Fresh Prince of Bel-Air star, Alfonso Ribeiro. Even though it was only Witney’s second season as a pro, she and Alfonso ended up winning the Mirrorball trophy! In an Instagram post by the official Dancing With the Stars account, they shared a video of Witney announcing she’ll be back as a pro this season: “I cannot wait to get back on that dance floor,” she shared. Witney has been away from the show for the past two seasons after having her second baby boy, Jet. She actually announced her pregnancy on the show after dancing with her celebrity partner, Wayne Brady, in 2022. Once her season with Wayne came to a close, Witney announced that she would not be returning to the show as she wanted to focus on her growing family after the birth of Jet. Many fans assumed this was the end for her, so to hear such an exciting announcement about her return is a welcome surprise. In the Instagram post, Witney also teased her partner for this upcoming season, “Wait until you meet my partner, you guys are going to die!” The full cast of pros and celebrities for season 33 will be revealed exclusively on Good Morning America on September 4. Only one celebrity contestant has been announced for season 33 so far: Olympian gymnast Stephen Nedoroscik (otherwise known as the pommel horse guy!) Now, fans are speculating who else will be joining the cast and if any other supposedly ‘retired’ pros will be making a comeback a la Witney Carson.
