A cross-section of women and youths in the Anloga Municipality have made a passionate appeal to the National Vetting Committee, urging them to consider the nomination of Joseph Agbeko Kpogo as the next Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Anloga.
According to them, Kpogo is a true grassroots leader and a development-oriented figure who has significantly contributed to the growth of the constituency, making him the ideal candidate for the position.
A Man of Action and Development
Joseph Agbeko Kpogo has gained widespread support for his hands-on approach to solving local challenges. Community members, particularly women and the youth, cite his role in the construction of the Woe Bridge at Woe Afedome as a major milestone in the constituency’s development.
Prior to the bridge’s construction, residents often found themselves stranded, especially during the rainy season, as the floodwaters made crossing impossible. Through his personal efforts and advocacy, Kpogo ensured the completion of the bridge, improving mobility and access to essential services for residents.
Speaking on his contributions, a resident of Woe, Madam Esther , stated, “For years, we suffered whenever it rained because the road would become impassable. Mr. Kpogo listened to our concerns and made sure the Woe Bridge was built. That is the kind of leader we need someone who is ready to solve our problems.”

Contributions to Education and Community Development
Beyond infrastructure, Kpogo has also been instrumental in improving education and social amenities in the Anloga Municipality. A headmistress at the Tegbi E.P. Basic School recounted how he supported the school and the broader community with essential items, including streetlights.
“Our school compound and surrounding areas used to be very dark, which made it unsafe for both students and teachers. Mr. Kpogo personally arranged for the installation of streetlights to ensure our safety. He has also supported other community development initiatives. We need a leader like him who understands our needs,” she said.
Community members argue that his development efforts stretch beyond a single project, as he has continuously worked to uplift different parts of the municipality. Many believe his nomination and eventual appointment as MCE would allow him to continue the good work he has already started.

A Plea for Fairness
Supporters of Kpogo assert that it would be unfair if he is overlooked for the MCE position, given the overwhelming grassroots support he enjoys. They argue that leadership should be about results and commitment, both of which he has demonstrated through his works.
“The people of Anloga want Joseph Agbeko Kpogo because he has already shown his dedication to our development. He is a man of action, not just words. If fairness is to be upheld, then the National Vetting Committee must nominate him,” said David , a youth leader in the community.
A Call to the National Vetting Committee
As the decision on the next MCE for Anloga looms, residents are calling on the authorities to prioritize the voice of the people. The women and youths of Anloga believe that a leader like Kpogo, who understands the real challenges on the ground and has a track record of delivering tangible solutions, is best suited to take the municipality forward.
With the overwhelming support from various groups within the municipality, the question now remains: will the National Vetting Committee heed the call of the people and allow Joseph Agbeko Kpogo to continue his development agenda for Anloga?
