EXCLUSIVE: Bright Spot Content, the All3Media American company, has a new SVP, Development.
The company, which is behind series such as Warner Bros. Discovery’s Puppy Bowl, Hulu’s Hotties and TLC’s Little People Big World, has hired Breonna Carrera in the role. She joins from World of Wonder, where she was VP, Development.
It comes as the producer recently wrapped production on Amazon’s Wear Whatever the F*** You Want, an eight-episode series fronted by Clinton Kelly and Stacy London, and ahead of the launch of ten-part true-crime series Philly Homicide for Oxygen, which premieres on October 26.
Carrera, who reports to Bright Spot’s founder and CEO Sandy Varo Jarrell, will develop the company’s slate including formats, social experiments and character-driven docu-series.
At World of Wonder, she developed Owning Manhattan for Netflix, which has just been renewed for a second season. Before that she was at 44 Blue Productions, STX Entertainment, Ryan Seacrest Productions, and Asylum Entertainment.
Sandy Varo Jarrell said, “Breonna is an incredibly creative and versatile development executive with a stellar reputation across the business and I’m thrilled to have her join the Bright Spot team.”
Carrera added, “Sandy has an impeccable track record both as a leader and a creative executive. Thanks to her, Bright Spot Content has thrived during challenging times, and I hope to build upon that solid foundation and continue to bring some much-needed light, laughter, and longevity to the world of unscripted TV.”
