World Series Game 4 Delivers 8-Year Audience High As Yankees Upset Dodgers To Avoid A Sweep

The audience for the 2024 World Series just keeps growing.

Game 4, which saw the New York Yankees upset the Los Angeles Dodgers to extend the Series, drew 16.7M viewers across Fox, Fox Deportes and streaming. That’s the biggest audience for this World Series so far.

It’s also up quite significantly from the previous two games, which managed about 13M each. Game 1 averaged just over 15M, but it makes sense the anticipation would be growing now, as it typically does in the second half of the Series.

With just over 16M viewers on Fox alone, Tuesday night’s matchup was the network’s the most-watched World Series Game 4 in eight years, since Cleveland Guardians beat the Chicago Cubs to the tune of 16.7M viewers on the broadcaster.

Viewership peaked with 18.2M viewers around 10:15 p.m. ET, when the Yankees began to really run up the score in the latter half of the game, after Anthony Volpe hit a history making grand slam at the bottom of the third inning that put them in the lead.

The Yankees ultimately came out on top with an 11-4 victory against the Dodgers after three straight losses, forcing a Game 5. Through four games, the Series is now averaging 14.9M viewers — the best average since 2017.

The Dodgers will look to seal the deal on another championship title Wednesday night in the Bronx, while the Yankees are still holding out hope that their World Series run isn’t over just yet.

With how things are going, Game 5 will likely be another record-breaker for Fox.
