WRESTLING RUMORS: Backstage Update On CM Punk’s Status And Reputation

It’s working. There are certain wrestlers who have a certain reputation that follows them throughout their careers. Whether it has been earned or not, there is the chance that someone is not as positively received as others and it is always going to be there. It can be a big deal when someone’s reputation improves and that appears to be the case again with one of the most controversial wrestlers in recent history.

According to WrestleVotes, WWE is said to be “extremely happy” with CM Punk since his return to the company last November. This includes his backstage attitude, his drawing power on television and on social media, and his merchandise sales. Punk is believed to want to stay in WWE for as long as possible and eventually help run the NXT developmental program. Punk is scheduled to return to the ring at Summerslam against Drew McIntyre.

Opinion: While it is nice to hear something like this about Punk, there is always going to be the caveat of “for now”. Punk received similar praise during the start of his time in AEW and that did not end well. Maybe things can go differently this time, but Punk has certainly earned the reputation that he has for a reason. If nothing else though, it is nice to have things going so well for the time being.
