WRESTLING RUMORS: CM Punk’s Return On SmackDown Return Could Set Up WrestleMania 41 Showdown

That could be big. We are less than six months away from WrestleMania 41 and that means WWE is going to start setting things up in advance. The company already has some ideas for the bigger matches on the card and that means it is time to start building to those matches. We might have seen something like that already and it came with only one of the people around.

This week’s SmackDown saw the return of CM Punk to join Roman Reigns, the Usos and Sami Zayn in WarGames. Punk took the spot after the team tried and failed to recruit Seth Rollins for the match. According to WRKD Wrestling on Twitter, Punk taking the spot will be “used as fuel” for Punk’s expected match with Rollins at WrestleMania. The idea will be that Punk stepped up to help fight the Bloodline when Rollins wouldn’t help. WrestleMania is set for April 19 and 20.

Opinion: This is something that could make for a good story, as Punk vs. Rollins has already been built up for the last several months. The two of them have a reason to fight and now they might be doing it again on the biggest stage in wrestling. This could be quite the talking point for the feud, and now we could be in for a big showdown between two of the bigger stars in WWE.
