The long-awaited reveal of The Island in WWE 2K25 was revealed this week during PlayStation’s State of Play.

Last night during PlayStation’s State of Play event, WWE 2K25 was a featured game with a trailer that revealed more information regarding The Island. The trailer was narrated by Roman Reigns’ wiseman Paul Heyman.

WWE Games would take to social media following the reveal dropping the stand-alone trailer for the new mode, tweeting out:

“For the first time in WWE 2K franchise history, step outside the ropes and onto The Island. In this immersive WWE-themed world, complete quests, take on challenges, compete in live events, and upgrade and customize your MySUPERSTAR through multiple storyline chapters. #WWE2K25,” WWE Games said in a post.

More details regarding the mode would soon follow from 2K in the form of the Ringside Report. The article dives into the features and locations this mode has to offer. Those familiar with The City from NBA 2K will feel right at home with this mode.

While The Island has excited plenty of fans, many are worried about the introduction of virtual currency to purchase items for creation mode and what this will do to community creations as a whole.

WWE 2K25 will release on PlayStation 5, 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC on March 14. Those who pre-order the high-end editions will get the game seven days early on March 7.
