It is the time of the year when WWE decides to alter its landscape and release a seismic shift in their rosters with the onset of the upcoming WWE Draft set to begin this week on SmackDown and culminate on RAW next week.
WWE Superstars from RAW and SmackDown will be eligible for the draft with signs hinting towards some top prospects from WWE NXT also joining the main roster brands as part of the Draft.
The company has now released the rules for the WWE Draft on X. According to the same, there will be 4 rounds with a total of 16 picks and 6 rounds with a total of 24 picks on SmackDown and RAW respectively. Interestingly, the champions from each brand are protected from being drafted except for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions.
Moreover, SmackDown will have the first pick on Night 1 of the WWE Draft while RAW would get the same privilege on Night 2 with the final rosters being locked on May 6.

With WWE set to undergo a huge change with the WWE Draft, it will be interesting to see which superstars end up on RAW and SmackDown to potentially kick off new innings for themselves in the new era of the company.
