https://www.ringsidenews.com/2025/03/05/wwe-evolve-results-march-5-2025/WWE’s new EVOLVE show officially launched on March 5, and while the spotlight is on NXT talent and rising stars, the real power players behind the brand are working off-camera.
For those wondering who’s actually calling the shots, the answer is a trio of major wrestling minds—Jeremy Borash, Gabe Sapolsky, and Shawn Michaels. These three are steering the creative vision for EVOLVE, setting the tone for what could be a vital developmental pipeline for WWE’s future stars.
Borash has a deep history in wrestling production, dating back to his time with WCW and TNA, while Sapolsky is best known as the mastermind behind the original EVOLVE promotion and his influential work in ROH. And then there’s Michaels, who has already reshaped NXT’s identity under WWE’s new regime. Together, they’re crafting a unique identity for EVOLVE, ensuring it becomes more than just another developmental brand.
On-screen, Ava (The Rock’s daughter) has been positioned as the face of EVOLVE’s authority, much like her role as NXT’s General Manager. In the premiere episode, Shawn Michaels essentially handed her the reins, telling her, “You’re the boss,” as she teased major plans for next week.
While Ava will be running the show in storyline, it’s Borash, Sapolsky, and Michaels who are pulling the strings behind the scenes. The belief within WWE is that Ava will continue playing the “Mayor/GM” figure on-screen, while the real decision-making is left to the creative minds shaping the brand.
With WWE EVOLVE airing on Tubi, it’s an entirely new experiment for WWE’s developmental system, and it’ll be interesting to see how much influence Borash, Sapolsky, and Michaels have as the show progresses.
