WWE Hall of Famer Sika Anoa’i has passed away. He was 79 years old.
Jahrus Anoa’i shared the news on Instagram:
“It is with profound sadness that I share the news of the passing of Former Hall of Famer, Polaivao Leati Sika Anoa’i. He passed away peacefully on June 25th. Sika was a celebrated figure whose contributions and legacy have left an indelible mark. His memory will live on through his achievements and the many lives he touched.”
Sika Anoa’i had a legendary career as a member of The Wild Samoans with his brother, Afa. They wrestled all over the wrestling world and had a prominent run in the WWF, where they held the tag team titles three times. He and Sika were inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2007. Afa and Sika were inducted into the Professional Wrestling Hall of Fame in 2012.
After he retired, Sika trained wrestlers at the Wild Samoan Training Center.
Sikoa was a member of the Anoa’i wrestling family, which includes his son, Roman Reigns, The Rock, The Usos, and Rikishi. Peter Maivia was his uncle. He and Afa appeared at WWE Hell in a Cell and celebrated Roman Reigns’ win over Jey Uso.
