WWE made an exciting announcement regarding the future of its iconic SummerSlam event three months ago. Starting in 2026, the event will expand to two-night format, similar to WrestleMania.

The first-ever two-night extravaganza will be held at the US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota, on August 1st and 2nd, 2026. Moreover, the company itself is coming off the grand success of this year’s edition of SummerSlam in Cleveland, Ohio.

Following the announcement of a two night SummerSlam and the staggering success of this year’s show, speculations began swirling regarding the status of next year’s show possibly become a two night show as well.

However, in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer stated that when asked about the 2025 edition of SummerSlam becoming a two-night show, WWE’s response was only “stay tuned.” However, another source claimed that it was almost definite that SummerSlam 2025 will take place under the two-night format.

“Regarding the 2025 SummerSlam and whether it would be one day or two, the WWE response was only “Stay tuned” and another WWE source tabbed it as “almost definite” next year would be two days.”

WWE has a history of hosting SummerSlam in iconic venues, enhancing the event’s prestige. The move to a two-night format would further solidify SummerSlam’s status as one of WWE’s premier events, potentially even rivaling WrestleMania in terms of scale and excitement.

So, it will be interesting to see if the two-night format for SummerSlam would come early as next year as the fans have already been enthralled by the announcement for the 2026 show.
