WWE has quite a few cogs in the wheel in order to ensure the machine works effectively. This includes shows such as WWE’s The Bump as well. However, it appears WWE has parted ways with one of its hosts recently.
According to PWInsider, Matt Camp, who served WWE for several years as the host of The Bump and various other content, was confirmed to have been released last week. The news of Camp’s departure has been met with surprise among several individuals within the company. No clear explanation for his release has been provided, and the company has not issued any internal statements on the matter.
Camp had been part of the company since September 2019 and, throughout his tenure, consistently hosted every episode of WWE’s Wednesday talk show, The Bump, until his quiet release last week. Despite this, there was no acknowledgement of Camp’s departure on last week’s show, and no mention of his absence.
In addition to The Bump, Camp featured on up to four weekly shows for WWE, including Raw Talk and Smackdown Lowdown on the WWE Network and Peacock. He was a regular presence on Premium Live Event Kickoff Shows, with his latest appearance being on the WWE NXT Vengeance Day Kickoff, and contributed to various WWE Network compilation specials.
Before joining WWE, Camp served as the lead announcer for Tommy Dreamer’s House of Hardcore promotion, was a regular contributor to SiriusXM’s Busted Open, and held the position of lead Fantasy Football Analyst for WBD’s Bleacher Report. Nevertheless, this was a shocking release on WWE’s part, so it remains to be seen who will end up replacing Matt Camp in the end.
