WWE RAW’s Possible Amazon Prime Move Could Drastically Change Show’s Format

WWE has a lot of options with their next set of television contracts. This could see RAW land on brand-new type of platform for the longest running weekly episodic show in history.

Amazon Prime could be possibly doing away with match commercials if WWE RAW moves to that platform. This may be an interesting aspect of seeing the red brand’s move to the paywall service.

During Wrestling Observer Radio, a reader sent in a question asking if they would remove the mid-match commercials with a move to Amazon Prime for WWE RAW. Dave Meltzer responded to say that he doesn’t know the answer to that, but there’s a very good chance that commercials will not be a thing in the middle of matches anymore.

“I don’t know the answer for sure, but I think there would be a very good shot that you would eliminate those commercials in the middle of the matches, yeah. It would make sense to do that.”

We will have to see if WWE ends up inking a deal with Amazon Prime. It is interesting that they have not come to any agreement on a contract for their flagship show yet. If anything, it appears that there are a few options on the table at this point.

WWE RAW moving to Amazon Prime could also drastically cut down on their viewership numbers. Then again, WWE may see the dollar signs and forget about that metric for once, because they’re open for business.
