However, following the conclusion of the Premium Live Event, fan footage revealed Kevin Owens and Cody Rhodes having a heated exchange in the parking lot What started as a tense verbal confrontation quickly turned physical when Owens punched Rhodes, sending him to the ground. The assault didn’t stop there; Owens kept attacking Cody while he was down, even trying to throw a garbage can at him.
According to PWInsider, WWE planned this angle between Kevin Owens and Cody Rhodes to take place in front of fans gathered outside Rhodes’ tour bus. The goal was to create a moment that would go viral on social media, as fans were likely to record and share the incident online, which is exactly what happened.
