WWE fans may get a major showdown sooner than expected. With the tension between Kevin Owens and Randy Orton reaching explosive levels, it seems the perfect venue for their brewing rivalry could be the upcoming WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event, set to air live on NBC and simulcast on Peacock on December 14 at 8 p.m. ET.

During a recent Wrestling Observer Radio discussion, Dave Meltzer hinted that this ongoing storyline could take center stage at Saturday Night’s Main Event. With WWE looking to deliver a “shoot-style” presentation for this match, fans can expect a more intense and gritty affair, unlike typical wrestling bouts. The special event, hosted at Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum, is part of WWE’s quarterly programming on NBC, and it looks like they plan to make it a memorable one.

“They want to make it like ‘this is not part of the pro wrestling entertainment aspect of the show. they want it to come off like “this is a shoot, this is real.” I think Saturday Night’s Main Event, not official but I think that’s where it’s going to be.”

This move would be a smart way to capitalize on the escalating drama between Owens, Orton, and other key players like Cody Rhodes. Owens’ recent backstage attack on Orton has only fueled speculation that the two are heading for a major confrontation that could draw big numbers for the event.

For now, WWE fans will have to wait and see how this tension unfolds leading up to Saturday Night’s Main Event in December.
