The January 6th edition of Monday Night RAW will kick off the Netflix era of the company, and the hype for the move is nearly infinite at this point as WWE is determined to make it an iconic episode. However, it appears WWE scrapped plans for Steve Austin’s appearance on the show.
According to Chris Featherstone, who has broken several stories lately, it was reported that “Stone Cold” Steve Austin was originally discussed for an appearance on the January 6th WWE RAW but it was ultimately scrapped, as he said, “Steve Austin was originally discussed to appear, but that has been scrapped.”
Steve Austin even hinted at appearing at WrestleMania 41 and fans really want that to happen no matter what. After all, they simply want to see him make up for not appearing at WrestleMania 40 last year.
While it’s certainly a shame that The Texas Rattlesnake will not be appearing on the debut episode of Monday Night RAW on Netflix, WWE obviously has lots of other things in store for fans as they want to ensure the Netflix era starts in the best way possible.
The episode will feature appearances from The Rock and John Cena. In addition to those, there will be several solid matches, including Seth Rollins vs. CM Punk, among others. Therefore, we will have to wait and see whether WWE will have more surprises planned for fans during the show.
