WWE SmackDown Averages 1.72 Million Viewers In USA Network Premiere

WWE SmackDown saw a decrease in viewership on September 13 with the move to USA Network.

According to Wrestlenomics, SmackDown averaged 1.723 million viewers on Friday. The show drew a 0.55 rating in the 18 to 49 demographic. The viewership number is down from last week’s episode, when an average of 1.77 million viewers tuned in. The demo also dropped from last week‘s episode, which drew a 0.45 rating in the same demographic. 

What happened on WWE SmackDown this week?

This week’s show kicked off with Cody Rhodes defeating Solo Sikoa in a steel cage match to retain the Undisputed WWE Championship. The Bloodline attacked Rhodes following the match which led to the return of Roman Reigns who made the save for Cody.

Randy Orton returned to SmackDown as Kevin Owens’ tag team partner picking up a win over A-Town Down Under.

Elsewhere on the show, Andrade defeated Carmelo Hayes in their best-of-five rubber match. Andrade will face LA Knight next week for the United States Championship.

The closing segment saw Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes sign the contract to face Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu at WWE Bad Blood.
