2024’s WWE SummerSlam has set a brand new American attendance record for the big premium live event.
As announced tonight during the show, Ohio’s Cleveland Browns Stadium had 57,791 fans in attendance tonight, marking a new all-time American attendance record for the show. The all-time record for attendance at the show still goes to the 1992 rendition of SummerSlam, which was held in Wembley Stadium and had a whopping 90,000 people in attendance.
The attendance was announced by Miz and R-Truth, the former of whom served as the official “host” for the premium live event. The duo was interrupted by Austin Theory and Grayson Waller, and were then subsequently beat down by Miz and R-Truth, as well as country music artist Jelly Roll.
For WWE, it marks yet another rise in attendance for the popular event. Last year, WWE claimed an attendance of 59,194 for 2023’s SummerSlam, which was held at Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan. However, the actual paid attendance for the show was 51,477, leading many to dispute the claim of 59,000 that was reported.
