On the January 16th episode of WWE NXT, a tag team breakup occurred during a 20-woman battle royal to determine the challenger for the NXT Women’s Championship at Vengeance Day. Lola Vice and Elektra Lopez, who had been a tag team, found themselves on opposite sides during the match.

Lola Vice had previously won the 2023 women’s NXT Breakout Tournament, earning herself a championship match opportunity. However, Elektra Lopez had been suggesting that Vice should use her title shot for a tag team championship match rather than a singles title.

During the battle royal, tensions escalated, leading to Vice eliminating Lopez from the match. After both were eliminated, they brawled up the ramp, signaling the end of their tag team partnership.

As for their future, Lola Vice is expected to continue in NXT as a singles competitor with the title shot in her possession. On the other hand, Elektra Lopez may have a different path ahead. There have been speculation about Lopez potentially joining Santos Escobar’s “Legado World Order” faction on SmackDown, alongside Angel Garza and Humberto Carrillo. Lopez’s recent appearances on the main roster, including pre-Raw Main Event tapings, suggest that WWE is considering her for a larger role.

Elektra Lopez has yet to comment on the breakup, while Lola Vice, in addition to retweeting supportive tweets, expressed her feelings by stating, “she was dead weight all along, FUERA!”
