WWE is bringing a mid-card championship to the Raw brand.
Much like the SmackDown brand, WWE wants to give more opportunities to the women’s division. A few weeks ago, SmackDown introduced a Women’s United States Championship. Currently they are still in the first round with Bayley and Chelsea Green who have advanced so far to the semi-finals.
Now, the Raw women’s division will have their own Women’s Intercontinental Championship.
PWInsider Elite is reporting that WWE is already in the planning stages to introduce a WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship title on Monday Night Raw when it shifts over to Netflix. The report added that the expectation internally is that the new title won’t get rolled out until the new Women’s US Title is crowned and established.
The Women’s United States Championship will be crowned on Saturday Night’s Main Event on Dec. 14.
