With Monday Night RAW set to move to Netflix in January 2025, there’s been a lot of speculation about what changes are coming to WWE’s programming. Ahead of the move, fans wondered whether RAW and SmackDown will be three hours in length next year and it appears WWE still hasn’t made any decision in that regard.

On the September 9 episode of Monday Night RAW, part of WWE Week on the USA Network, it was officially announced that RAW would switch back to a two-hour format starting October 7. The show will air from 8/7c to 10/9c each week and continue in this time slot until its final episode on the USA Network, which is set for December 30.

It was then reported that Friday Night SmackDown would become three hours in length for six months since January 2025 and then eventually go back to the two-hour runtime in the end.

While speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that it’s unclear if RAW and SmackDown will switch to a three-hour format. He recently asked about it and found out that talks are happening about the timing for both RAW and SmackDown, but there hasn’t been any official announcement yet.

“I don’t know if they are going three hours. I asked the other day and the basic thing was that both the time of RAW and the time of SmackDown are absolutely being discussed but there was no announcement to be made.”

We will have to wait and see whether WWE will ultimately decide to change the length of both Monday Night RAW and Friday Night SmackDown to three hours next year, as fans are expecting the same at the moment.

What’s your opinion on RAW and SmackDown’s status as far as runtime goes for next year? Do you feel they will both become three hours in length? Let us know in the comments section below!
