Xavi reportedly asked to meet the Barcelona hierarchy to discuss his continuity within the club.

FC Barcelona coach Xavi Hernandez did not have the end of the season he wanted, after the elimination from the Champions League and the defeat in the Clasico, which practically condemned the La Liga title in favor of Real Madrid. However, it could be that Xavi is not yet out of the woods as a coach.

According to the latest information from Catalonia, Xavi has requested to meet with the Barcelona hierarchy to discuss his continuity within the club. He wants to have guarantees on reinforcements from the summer transfer market, but plans to reverse his decision to leave, after having changed his mind, indicates RAC1.

Barça can’t find anyone

This information is confirmed by reports from Diario AS and Marca, which also claim that Xavi will meet with president Joan Laporta and sporting director Deco to talk about his future in the coming hours. Both claim that Barcelona leaders have heard that Xavi could reverse his decision this summer.

The fact that none of the other available managers are options that Barcelona fully trust could work in Xavi’s favor. Rafael Marquez is therefore best placed to replace him in the event of the departure of the former Catalan player.
