A few days after announcing his departure from Barça, Xavi received support from his midfielder Gavi.

The decision is made for Xavi. On Saturday, the Blaugrana coach announced his departure from Barça at the end of the season. “I would like to announce that on June 30, I will no longer continue as Barça coach. I think the situation needs to change course and, as culer, I cannot allow the current situation,” he explained at a press conference.

A strong decision from the Catalan coach which made Gavi react. The young Spanish midfielder, unavailable until the end of this 2023-24 financial year due to a ruptured cruciate knee ligament, was keen to provide his unwavering support to the former metronome on social networks. “With you until death, Mister,” he wrote on Instagram.

The former resident of La Masia will have played 97 matches in all competitions under the orders of Xavi. As a reminder, the latter arrived on the FCB bench in November 2021, succeeding Sergi Barjuan, who took over as interim after the departure of Ronald Koeman.
