With the noise surrounding Hansi Flick taking over as the next manager of FC Barcelona growing with each passing hour, current head coach Xavi Hernandez could soon be informed of his fate.

It has become almost certain over the past week that Xavi will be relieved of his duties at the end of the season, although the manager and his staff were not yet made aware of the matter.

It was suggested that Xavi would learn of his fate on Monday when a meeting will take place between the manager and the club hierarchy.

However, things appear likely to be fast-tracked in light of developments in the Flick situation.

Laporta could inform Xavi today itself

Indeed, SPORT reports that Barcelona president Joan Laporta could inform Xavi of his dismissal as the manager today itself.

This development comes after the Barça chief showed up at the Ciutat Esportiva complex unexpectedly today.

It is being claimed that a meeting is taking place between Xavi and Laporta, with Deco, Rafa Yuste, Joan Soler, Bojan Krkic, and Enric Masip also likely to be involved.

It has been suggested that Xavi himself requested the meeting after all the noise surrounding the Flick appointment.

As such, there is a strong possibility that the club legend could be informed about his imminent exit today itself.

Furthermore, there may even be a possibility that Xavi is not on the bench for the final La Liga game of the season against Sevilla on Sunday.

Instead, José Ramón de la Fuente, the Blaugrana goalkeeping coach, could be the provisional replacement.
