It has been around four months since Xavi Hernandez was sacked by FC Barcelona, with the new era under Hansi Flick taking off in fine fashion.
However, clips from Xavi’s last season in charge of the team have surfaced today as part of a documentary on Barça One.
One of the clips showed the emotional speech that the former manager gave to the squad after he had announced his decision to leave the club back in January.
Now, another clip has been released that showcases the angry side of the former midfielder.
Xavi blasted Barça stars during half-time vs Osasuna
Indeed, Xavi went on a angry rant at his players having been very unhappy with their performance in the first half of the Spanish Super Cup semifinal against Osasuna in January earlier this year.
“Guys, Madrid are waiting for us in the final. This is what it’s all about, eh. This is it, guys. It’s mobility. It’s ‘now I want it’. It’s ‘give it again, give it again’. And play, come on, for f***’s sake. We lack soul, guys,” Xavi told his players in the dressing room.
Continuing, he added: “It’s not about clashing. No, guys, it’s not about clashing. It’s about playing. In one and two touches, it’s about support.
“We are standing still. It’s body language. Give him the ball, he’s going. Give it to Gundo’, he jumps, come on, give it to him, he’s here on his own.
Concluding, Xavi said: “Let’s go out there and give it everything we’ve got.”
The match ended 2-0 in favour of the Blaugrana, with goals from Robert Lewandowski and Lamine Yamal, and Barça qualified for a final only to end up losing to Real Madrid.
