Xia Li Released By WWE, Li Issues Statement

Xia Li has been released by WWE.

On April 19, Xia Li took to Twitter to issue a statement in which she reflected on her seven years with WWE. She noted that she was proud to be the first female Chinese superstar, and she expressed her gratitude to Triple H and WWE. Li thanked everyone who helped her along the way, and she also thanked the fans. She said that this was not the end, but a new beginning.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful then confirmed that Mahal had been released by WWE.

Li first joined WWE in 2017 and competed in the inaugural Mae Young Classic. She also competed in the second Mae Young Classic. Li joined NXT in 2019 and competed in the Royal Rumble that year. She had a prominent run as Tian Sha in NXT.

Li moved to SmackDown in 2021 and had a brief run on RAW starting in 2023. She feuded with Becky Lynch, and she also competed in the Royal Rumble match. Li last competed at the WWE Main Event taping on April 15.

WWE also released Jinder Mahal and Xyon Quinn on April 19.
