AC Milan midfielder Yacine Adli has admitted he should not have offended Fennecs supporters.

Yacine Adli sparked controversy on Wednesday evening by publicly announcing her decision to play for the France team. He chose this selection rather than Algeria, where he had been insistently announced recently.

The former Bordeaux player expressed this decision in a rather crude manner. His argument is the fact of wanting to “play at the highest level” and that, in fact, the Blues represented the best possible option for him.

Adli promises to explain

This posture has sparked a lot of criticism on the other side of the Mediterranean. He was flooded with insulting messages on social media, along with his brother. He was notably criticized for having made the Algerians hope for nothing.

After 24 hours, Adli realized that perhaps he had not chosen the right time or the right way to express himself. He apologized to the Algerian public. It was Thursday evening after AC Milan’s match against Slavia Prague in the Europa League. “I understand the anger of the Algerians after my statements. I will speak very soon to explain myself »he told BeIn Sports.

For information, Adli went through all the youth selections of France, but he never played in Espoirs or in A. Given the solutions that Didier Deschamps has in this sector, it is unlikely that he will be called up to the Tricolores in the near future.
